This paper takes the theory of perspective and modes of expression as the starting point, which is the superposition surface of Narratology and Stylistics. The article discusses andstudies the unique narrative strategies and style technique of texts in Dubliners by JamesJoyce from three aspects: the perspective of the narrative mode, the forms of expression andthe complementary combination of these two parts. In the first chapter, the paper discusses a variety of focus modes, including thefirst-person inner perspective, the first person outer perspective, the omniscient narrativeperspective, and the third-person outer perspective. The different novel uses the differentangle of view, has produced different effects. In this chapter, the paper also discusses shift ofperspective, change of perspectives and overlapping narrative perspective which appeared inthe novel and their effects. In the second chapter, the article analyzes five forms of speech acts in Dublinersaccording to the theory of Leech and Short. They are direct discourse, indirect discourse, freedirect discourse, free indirect discourse and narrative report of speech act. As in differentquotation forms, the degree of intervention of the narrator is different, therefore it has adifferent stylistic effect. And this article makes a in-depth and detailed analysis of the author’swriting skills. In the third chapter, the paper starts from the complementary point of Narratology andStylistics. As Narratology pays much attention on "Time", whereas Stylistics does not, therefore the article analyzes Dubliners in the classification categories of time: Time Order,Time Span and Time Frequency according to Genette. This paper emphatically analyzes TimeSpan in Apartment, combined with style, tone, etc.which Stylistics concerned about toexplore Joyce’s creative skills. Finally, there is the conclusion of this paper, which is an overview of the reasons thatDubliners can obtain the success is inseparable with the author’s narrative techniques andstylistic skills.
