Language plays an important role in human life. Because it is a media to express theirfeelings, thoughts, desires, and needs as well as the adaptation and integration toolsbetween people in development of social civilization. People also use language as acommunication tool in social activities.In the present time, the inclusion of the world free market increases its need forcommunication. Each increasingly advanced technology pursues human resources, notonly excellent talent, but also foreign language capabilities. With the thriving economy inthe era of globalization, China has an important role in the international economicdevelopment, which makes it one of the greatest countries in the world economy.Therefore, Chinese is also one of the languages used in the commercial, economic and freemarket. So people learning the Chinese language as a second language has many purposes.The key to master a language successfully should be the ability to express in thetarget language and apply it to life. Time in which each language learners start learningChinese, they must be in an appropriate environmental condition so that it can be used inreal life. To create the best conditions, we must determine the success of the learningChinese process, the same as learning Chinese. Therefore, the learning environment of thetarget language and learning a second language in a non-target environment must have animpact on the learner in order to use Chinese to communicate. In this paper is the analysisof the environmental factors that impact Indonesian students use Chinese to communicate.
