The Historical Contirbutions And Limitations Of Lukcas’ Materialized Theory

In a sensebeing the most fundamental and most closely tied to human’s own fate, the problem that the modern society faces is the alienation. In1923, Lukacs put forward the famous materialization theory in his book: History and Class Consciousness,which caused a widespread concern about the alienation.At persent,studies about materialization theory are voluminous and have gained great success. These studies explored the historical backgroud, the contributions as well as the limitation of it. However, the exploration of the deep-seated reason is not enough. we believe if we need to evaluate this theoryproperly, itshould be placed to the overall understanding of the entire history of philosophy. Therefore, the paper focuses on the following questions:1. The background and the main content of Lukcas’ materialization theory. After the October Revolution, the proletarian revolution in Europe failed one after another. Theorists like Lukcas, Keer then began to reflect on the failure of the revolution, for which they proposed to restore the banner of “Orthodox Marxism”. From the theoretical origin, Marx’s commodity fetishism in "Das Kapital" is its direct source of theory, and it’s also affected by Dilthey’s "Holistic Thinking","Rationalization Thought" of Max Weber,Chairman Mel’s Materialized Thought and Hegelian’s dialectics. As for the content, thematerialization refers to the replacement of the relationship between things and things for the interpersonal relationships. The materialization lies not only in economic, politicalfields, but also penetrate into the depths of the human mind, which leads to the formation of a materialized consciousness. So we need the Totality Principle to realize the sublation of materialization.2, The evaluation of materialization theory from the historical contributions and limitations. Materialized theory not only caused the widespread concern of the alienationtheory, which leads the theory intothe psychological and instinctive edpth, but also created a new interpretation of Marxism, These are instructive for the proletarian revolutionand socialist construction. However, the metaphysical basis, resulted in the theory errorsin the definition of the concept, the causes of the materialization, the evaluation of materialization and the sublation.3.The Classify judegement for the evaluation of materialization theory from the academic.The evaluation of materialization theory from thescholars are mainly from their historical contributions and limitations,but doesn’t refer to the philosophy basis behind it.Therefore the understanding of the basic problem how the materialization theory reduced the principles of marxist philosophy, we should give a fair judgement to the research results of the field.
