Chinese modern children’s literature initiated in the Late Qing dynasty.But it really was born in the period of "May Fourth Movement", and in theperiod of "May Fourth Movement" it has achieved great development.Children’s literature translation is very important to the initiation, birth anddevelopment of Chinese modern children’s literature. When we discuss theliterary translation in the period of “May Fourth Movement", we cannotignore foreign children’s literature translation in this period.Studying children’s literature translation in the period of "May FourthMovement" in depth, let us recognize children’s literature character and stylein this period from perceptual.By studying translated children’s literature, we find modern Chineseviews on children is how to make the transition under the impact of thechildren’s literature translation.When we study children’s literature translation in “May FourthMovement",“modem enlightenment movement” is a topic unable to avoid.Conveying scientific knowledge to Children is an important purpose of"May Fourth movement" children’s literature translation, this is also thedominant reflection of "democracy" and "science" in the field of children’sliterature translation. In addition, moral enlightenment is also one of theimportant purposes of the children’s literature translation. In children’sliterature translation of text, we can find the the unique enlightening ofchildren’s literature translation in this period. By Reading the children’sliterature of lu xun’s text, we understand that it explains enlighteningconnotationof the children’s literature translation that including nationalindependent spirit of enlightenment and the enlightenment of the philosophyof life.The formation of “Children standard theory” and the inputting of foreign children’s literature provides abundant resources of emergence of theChinese modern children’s literature. The children’s literature translators in"May Fourth Movement" period loved foreign literature very much, most ofthem were proficient in a foreign language, and widely contact with theworld literary and artistic ideas and the numerous foreign literary works, onthe one hand, they committed to children’s literature translation with the zeal,on the other hand, they study from others to promote their children’sliterature creation. Many famous writer payed attention to Children’sliterature translation and personal practiced, Such as Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren,Zheng Zhenduo, Zhao Jingsen, Mao Dun, Bing Xin, Xia Mianzun, ZhaoYuanren, etc. Ye Shengtao’s “scarecrow” as a representative of LocalChinese children’s literary creation in the1920s and ended almost " zerocreation "times since the Late Qing dynasty. The Chinese modern literaturewas happening in the "May Fourth Movement",and the translation ofchildren’s literature make it out.
