The Similarities And Differences Between The Ubtitle Translation Of The Open Class And Elevision Movies And Television Series

In recent years, with the popularity of the open class, the netizens in China haveanother culture to follow. On internet, subtitle group has a long history. Thecharacteristics of the translation of the American TV series caused much public debatebecause of its humor and hyperbole. Translation of the open class, because of itsstylistic features, is both lively and rigorous. The subtitle of open class is in a style ofboth oral English and academic article, in need of translation by professionaltranslators, because of the academic style of open class.Firstly, this thesis analyzes three characteristics of the subtitle translation, andthen through the case study on foundations of modern social theory of open Yalecourses, the thesis illustrate the similarities and differences between the subtitletranslation of the open class and television movies and television series. At last, thethesis conclude that subtitle translation of the open class and television movies andtelevision series should both emphasize the effectiveness of communication by somemethods while translation of the open class should focus more on technicality andpreciseness but subtitle translation of television movies and television series onentertainment.
