| “Jianyu” sentences in contemporary Chinese language are sentences in which“Jianyu” phrases are used as predicates as well as non-subject-predicate sentencescomposed of “Jianyu” phrases. It is a unique sentence pattern in Chinese language,also one of the most common and important sentence patterns in Chinese language.Therefore, it has always been a hot subject studied by grammarians. But the study forthis kind of sentence pattern always remain in the level of studying single sentences,mainly discussing their range confirmation,the analysis of their structures, along withtheir nature and creation. Up till now there is no related result on the analysis of“Jianyu” sentences combined with discourses. This article studies the “Jianyu”sentences of contemporary Chinese language in the background of sections andchapters, taking the discourse study as theory guide and in the way of multi-angleobservation and analysis, so as to learn this kind of sentence pattern more fully.Chapter One firstly analyses the cognitive state and semantic feature of eachelement which constitutes “Jianyu” sentences, followed by analyzing each elementfrom the discourse approach, and then explores the connection between eachelement and the topic in the sentences within the scope of discourse as well as therelation between each element and the evolution of topics. Discovering the thoroughunderstanding to each element is the basis for exploring the feature and function of“Jianyu” sentences. In NP1+VP1+NP2+VP2, NP1is usually known message, havingclose connection with the context, always appearing as topic elements. The differenttypes of VP1make it differ for “Jianyu” sentences in choosing sentence patterns ofsubject-predict type or non-subject-predict type in discourse. NP2is the hub elementin “Jianyu” sentences, tending to acting as anaphoric definite noun. It can not onlycomposes back-indicating relation with the related elements of the context, but alsohas the function of shifting topics. VP2is the focus for the whole sentence to expressits meaning.Chapter Two analysis by synthesis the discourse message from the intact“Jianyu” sentence composed by each element. Different kinds of “Jianyu” sentenceshave different discourse expression and different discourse features. So this articleexplores “Jianyu” sentences in the point of view of discourse from four aspects as discourse structures, style analysis, special phenomenon and discrimination of relatedsentence patterns. In discourse,“Jianyu” sentences usually appear in the form ofprospect sentence, and mainly acting as open-topic sentences in the syntagm whichcompose the discourse. In the feature of literature style,“Jianyu” sentence of“delight-anger-type” tends to appearing in oral language, while “Jianyu” sentence of“with-without-type” tends to appearing in written language, and the other four typesof “Jianyu” sentences having no distinct tendency in choosing language types. Incontemporary Chinese language,“Jianyu” sentence exist some special phenomenon,and this article discusses five kinds of them: successive-application of VP1,synonymy-successive-application of NP2, NP1=NP2,“simultaneous set andsimultaneous pattern as well as“successive-simultaneous fuse sentence”.This articlealso discriminates different types of “Jianyu” sentences with related sentence patternswhich can be easily mixed up:“Jianyu” sentences of “order type”、“affirmation type”、“with-without type” can be discriminated according to their features of thesimultaneous verbs. The discrimination for “Jianyu” sentence of “delight-anger type”shall be combined specific language circumstances；the differences between “Jianyu”sentence of “carry-over type” and successive-predict sentence embodies mainly in thecompleterof VP2；the differences between “hand-over type” and double can mainly bediscriminated from VP2.Chapter Three expresses analyzing the discourse function of “Jianyu” sentence inthe way of applying discourse function. Due to the complexity and variety of “Jianyu”sentences themselves, they have generality and individuality in their functionsexpressed in discourses. The overall discourse function is summarized from all typesof “Jianyu” sentences. In view of entirety,“Jianyu” sentence is of coherent function,peculiar expression function, outstanding revealing and distinct demonstratingfunction as well as function of outstanding revealing amount of information. Withthese generality, the unique discourse function of all types of “Jianyu” sentences areexplored.“Jianyu” sentence of “affirmation type” is of the function of describing andsummarizing.“Jianyu” sentence of “delight-anger type” is of the function ofevaluation.“Jianyu” sentence of “with-without-type” is of the function of drawingforth the utterance and topic.“Jianyu” sentence of “carry-over type” is of the functionof outstanding displaying cooperation action.“Jianyu” sentence of “hand-over type”is of the function of outstanding revealing the purpose and result of hand-over. Theperfect fusion mixed with general discourse functions and unique discourse functionsmakes “Jianyu” sentences play an irreplaceable role in the application of discourses. In realizing the discourse fuction of "Jianyu" sentence, demonstrating that thesentence pattern plays an active role in the discourse organization is focused. |
