1960s "spatial turn " occurred in the academia,at the same time,Edward. W.Soja also began to explore the space.Soja put the background of the development of the capitalist concept of space and the traditional Marx doctrine theory limitations as a critical basis,and draw and absorb others’space thinking to build his unique social and critical theory,that is,from the time、society、space three dialectical perspective,on the social general criticism.Soja use creative thinking put forward the concept of "the ontology of space",the concept of "the third space",the concept of "post—metropolitan" and so on,his theories at the same time has time nature,social nature and the nature of space.This article based on Sojia’s three books about space thinking,try to interpret and analyze Edward W.Soja’s theories about space.In this paper except the introduction and conclusion,is divided into four chapters,from the content can be divided into two parts:the first part mainly introduces the source of Soja’s theories about space,contents are dealt with in the first chapter,introduction by Marx、Engels on the idea of space and Lefebvre’theory on space who is the teacher of Soj a,their theories have the greatest impact on Soja;the second part mainly elaborates Soja’s theories on space,the second chapter the third chapter and the fourth chapter introduces Soja’s thinking of "the ontology of space","the third space" theory and the thinking of the "post-metropolitan" space.
