Research On Wu Jianren’s Historical Novels

Wu Jianren was one of the most influential and prolific writers in late Qingdynasty whose creations were not only social novels but also historical novels.Hissocial novels exposed the social dark side and sustenanced the socil ideal, whichwere influential, such as the strange situation I has seen in20years, Odd Injusticeof Nine Lives and New Story of the Stone. His historical novels were realistic andfull of the author’s immediate political significance, such as Southern Song DynastyKingdoms, Jin Dynasty Kingdoms and Yunnan ancient Kingdoms. Wu Jianren’shistorical novel creation was an important part of the history of Chinese fictions.Hiscreative features showed the new style of historical novels in late Qing dynasty,both inheriting and developping the traditional Chinese historical novels, which isworth to Thorough researching. Some opinions revealed they inherited anddevelopped the traditional Chinese historical novels. For example,“it’s better to belasge and true”,“be good for the education” and “be interesting”and so on about thehistorical view of Novels;“Prominent political reality”,“highlight the educationfunction” and so on about the main spirit;”respetion to the historical facts”and“seeking for the interst” and so on about the actual situation processing.Discussingthe opinions was good for researching on the Wu Jianren comprehensively, fixinghis position in Chinese novel history scientifically and fuether developing theresearch on the Chinese historical novels,especially historical novels in recenttimes.The introduction of this article reviewed the current situation of study on Wujianren historical novel briefly, and presenting research mentality, research methodsand research framework of this article.The text was divided into five chapters: Chapter I: Carding Wu jianren’s creatingintention on historical novels. Chapter Ⅱ: Carding Wu jianren’s opinions onhistorical novels. Chapter Ⅲ: Carding the historical data origin of Wu Jianren’shistorical novel comprehensively; finding out the differences between the novel textand the real history; seeking the processing methods on the historical facts. ChapterⅣ: Discussing the methods of figures’ creating and effection in Wu Jianren’shistorical novels. Chapter Ⅴ: Sereaching Wu Jianren’s inheriting and developingon the Chinese traditional historical novels from the historical view of Novels, mainspirit and the actual situation processing.Finally, the Conclusion was a brief summary of the whole study; the same time,it presented the problems of this article which could be thoroughly explored andneeded to be deepened and the corresponding solution.
