The research object is the three syllable words in modern Chinese words.Through the researchhopes to achieve the following two goals:From the modern Chinese vocabulary system staticcategory, through carries on the level, structure and other aspects of research, can be morecomplete, in-depth understanding of vocabulary system status and characteristics;From themodern Chinese vocabulary system dynamic category, the modern Chinese vocabulary system notonly has relative stability, also in the unceasing change development, based on the three syllableword analysis, it helps to research into the vocabulary development and trend.The researchmethod of this paper is the corpus based on the quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis. Thisstudy selected data from two main dictionary: one was made by Li Hangjian editor, foreignlanguage teaching and Research Press, Chinese Publishing House of the" modern ChineseStandard Dictionary"(2004January First Edition); two were made by Chinese Academy of socialscience dictionary editorial office editor, published by the commercial press" modern Chinesedictionary"(2005June Fifth Edition).Quantitative statistical content includes:(1) three syllablewords in each word and phrases containing the entry number, divided into specific nouns,adjectives, verbs, pronouns, adverbs, onomatopoeia, the category link, quantifiers, numerals,Interjections and phrases, a total of eleven class;(2) the three syllable words contained within amorpheme number;(3) the three syllable word the metrical structure quantity distribution;(4) thethree syllable words each grammatical structure quantity distribution.Qualitative analysis includesthree syllable words and phrases rhythm structure, grammatical structure of the general laws andspecial structure, as well as the words and phrases in rhythm, grammar analysis and comparison.From lexical aspect, Chinese vocabulary system of three syllable words in noun class the most, theterm has the tendency, and it is also very open class, the reality of life in the new things, newphenomenon, new concept generation will be within this range performance. The other accordingto the quantity, ordinal for: adjective, verb, adverb, pronoun, conjunction, quantifiers, numerals,onomatopoeia, interjections.
