The Research On Social Standpoint Of Zhuang Tzu

The social standpoint of Zhuang Tzu includes social criticism、social idealityand the way to realize social ideality.The social criticism is mainly about the investigation of realistic problems inZhuang Tzu’s period,which is by means of the analysis on politics、economics andcultures.On the politics，from the war disaster and tyranny，Zhuang Tzu thinks that thebasic reason of social turbulence is the ruler’s greed and the promising way ofgovernance. Among them，advocating wisdom and benevolence，which have negativefunction on the nature of human being，are the manily forms of the promising way ofgovernance. On the economics aspect，the social economy has reached a fairly highlevel in the Warring States Period， but Zhuang Tzu recognizes that with thedevelopment of economy, material desire has caused severe damage to thehumanity.On the cultures aspect, Zhuang Tzu advocates reflecting the benevolenceand ritual system，which are the leading causes of utility and hypocrisy。Zhuang Tzu explains his social ideality from the aspects of human themselves、interpersonal relations and the relationship between human and nature. He thinks thatbeing indifferent to fame and fortune and envisaging life and death is theembodiment of internal comfort. Refering to the perfect interpersonal relations, hesays that common people should appear indifferent but souled with each other,meanwhile the ruler and people shouldn’t interfere with each other on the basis ofequality of personality. Whereafter，Zhuang Tzu talks about that there should be anatural harmony between human and nature，which mainly incarnates as equal、harmonious and conforming to the property of object.Zhuang Tzu advocates that if we want to realize the social ideality，we shouldpay more attation to the individual and politics.On the individual aspect，we shouldcultivate our morality by purifying heart、the idea of equivalence、forgetting desires.By these methods，we can eliminate the mundane views and desires and come torealize the true placidness at last. On the politics aspect，Zhuang Tzu thinks that theruler should govern the country by the principle of quietism. In low and realisticlevel，it means that the ruler is non-action, but the ministers are responsible for thenational affairs.In high and perfect level，it means that both the ruler and theministers are non-action. So it seems that returnning to primitive society is not Zhuang Tzu’s assertion，histrue objective is returnning to an innocence society by rethinking the sick reality,from these we will reach the ultimate goal of ideal and glorious society in the processof "negative negation".
