| Eight Views of Xiaoxiang is an important traditional culture in Xiaoxiang region with deep culture connotation and historical deposits. It’s a precious legacy for the future generation. However this culture is never familiar to the common people even to those who are living in the Xiaoxiang region. The reason is the lack of culture protection and advertisement. In academia the research of the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang is often in the poems and paintings of the history, sceneries and geography of the eight views, but the study on the culture images is almost blank. Thus the study on the culture image will contribute to the identity and dissemination of this culture.This thesis will analyze the cultural characteristics based on the earlier theory studies. With multiple survey and investigation methods the on-site research has been conducted in the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang to study its culture image and construct the basic principles of figuring the culture image. This paper is constructed from the following three aspects: humanistic atmosphere, culture sights and visual identity. The visual identity will be designed with the theory. The whole thesis will be divided into five chapters in the sequence of theory analysis-on-site research content construction-design and dissemination.First is the theory analysis. Based on both domestic and foreign studies the relevant concepts of the culture image of the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang is recognized and the four cultural characteristics are analyzed, thus the value brought by the figuring of the culture image is explained.Second is the on-site research. By studying and identifying the existing elements and sight formation, the issues existing in the culture image and the favorable conditions for shape of culture image are analyzed. What’s more, four basic principles for the shape of culture image is proposed on the basis of these.Third is the theory construction. Based on the earlier studies of cultural characteristics, current situation and figuration principles, the theory construction of culture image is conducted in three aspects: humanistic atmosphere, culture scenery and visual identity. This thesis proposes to build a cultural atmosphere of indistinct landscape and blended scenery and construct the sight scenery in aspects of protecting, visual and space dividing. From the content analysis of visual design to the extracting of symbol element, the standard and important points of the design of symbol are put forward, thus making a good preparation for the practical design.The last is the real design and dissemination. With the symbol elements extracted from previous chapters, the real design for the culture image identity, color and advertising posters will be conducted using the visual symbol standard and main point. In the end the dissemination for culture image will be analyzed in aspects of elements, process and methods, and the condition for achieving the dissemination of culture image will be finalized. |
