Korean teleplay has been developing for nearly twenty years in China. As a unique teleplay category, Korean teleplay plays an irreplaceable role in the global film and television circle. It not only wins high audience rating, but also has a tremendous impact on intercultural communication.New JISHEN Story is a representative of Korean teleplays with high rating and great social influence. This thesis attempts to probe into its typical narrative secret. Firstly, the characters in the teleplay are set on the basis of the traditional mode of "Cinderella+white horse prince", and it makes some innovation on the part of Cinderella. The plot is mainly centered on the classical "Cinderella type", but the set of ending is more complete. And its prominent theme meets the audience’s aesthetic demand and greatly appeals to them. Secondly, although the teleplay takes a stand on that woman should "speak", it is also mixed with "word" or "tone" of traditional male-centered culture system. While, the ethical discourse takes Confucian ethics culture as the core and also absorbs some contemporary west concepts, such as individuality, freedom, democracy and so on, and thus it forms a distinct ethnic and time-featured narrative discourse. Thirdly, the author analyzes New JISHEN Story from the aspect of actors, pictures and music, and holds that the teleplay combines visual impact with auditory enjoyment perfectly, bringing audience endless artistic pleasure. In a word, by means of the narrative mode mentioned above, New JISHEN Story successfully combines the artistic depth with commercial benefit, providing a good reference and example for the production of Chinese domestic teleplays.
