| The study objective of this thesis focuses on the idiom of parallelinlaying-number-in-odd-place Qi X Ba Y in Chinese. The thesis appliesthree plane theories to studying the characteristics of the phrase “Qi XBa Y†in such aspects as the grammar, meaning and application.Moreover, it attempts to apply, such theories as the conceptualmetaphor and conceptual integration theories in the cognitivelinguistics, to make a further study of cognitive psychology andintegration degree arising there from, thus finalizing the systematicdescription and explanation. I hope it will facilitate our recognition ofthe phrase, and hope it will be applied to the teaching. It comprises sixchapters, including the introduction and conclusion.In the first chapter, the introduction, we mainly demonstrate thepurpose and importance of topic selection, and current study situationon the integration theory and quasi-fixed phrases. By observing thecurrent study situations in the recent years, there may be still somepotential for further study on the modern Chinese quasi-fixed phrases.At the same time, this thesis also explains the sources of theories,methods and references.In the second chapter, we analyze the structural characteristicsand grammatical functions of the phrase. The phrase features symmetryand succession in structure. In sentences structure, we analyze thesituation that the phrase is used as seven different sentence elementssuch as predicate, attribute, adverbial, complement, subject, object and small. We describe the structural characteristics of the phraseclearly, whi ch leads to the good preparation for the later descriptionsand demonstrations i nthe next chapters.In the third chapt er, we obser ve the semantic structur e andpragmatic analysis. From the view of i nt ernal semanti c relation, X and Yin the phrase can be classified as the verb and adjective. The relationbetween them may be dependent and relative. While from the view ofexternal semantic relation, the phrase represents an addition to theoriginal quantity. In the pragmatic function, we analyze thecharacteristics of the phrase, and the function of expression.In the fourth chapter, we analyze the phrase integration with threegrades, and also study the semantic and grammatical characteristicsof each grade of the phrase, and then demonstrate theabove-mentioned analysis by a large number of references andexamples.In the fifth chapter, we analyze the practice of the structure of thephrase to the foreign Chinese teaching.In the sixth chapter, we summarize all the analysis and descriptionsof the phrase, and explain the value of this thesis on Chinesegrammatical development and teaching. |
