Since1979, Chinese contemporary photography has gradually blended into the contemporary arts; it brought a great deal of conceptual photographers and works, which have aroused great attention in the art circles. This article provides a comprehensive review of the conceptual photography since the new period; considering the relationship between conceptual photography, contemporary arts and social reality, to analyze how Chinese contemporary conceptual photography has intervene the modern society, and how it could adapt to the narrative of Chinese modern arts and the construction of arts within the whole context; also to further analyze the achievement, failure of conceptual photography in its past development process, as well as the significance today. Through analyzing the unique evolution process of Chinese conceptual photography within Chinese modern arts, and its strong character of realism, it works as a point of reference for the research of Chinese modern arts.This article is comprised of four parts:the first part analyzes the surviving environment of conceptual photography, which is modern arts; the second part describes and comments on the introduction and development of conceptual photography in China, and the rationale behind; the third part mainly summaries and analyzes different types of conceptual photographical works; the fourth part particularly illustrates the special phenomenon appeared in the evolution of conceptual photography, and introspection based on these special phenomenon. The last part is the conclusion. |
