Basic courses of plastic arts play a very important role in teaching, but the traditional form had severely constrained the creativity and enthusiasm of the students. The thesis aims to make the teaching different from the original but still base on conventional teaching in order to stimulate the activities of students in innovation, mobilize the enthusiasm of the students to learn. The thesis analyses it from following aspects:1, many problems exist in plastic Arts in colleges and universities:the old teaching methods, curriculum without any features, leading to serious consequences.2, form the basis of course in order to cultivate creativities of students.3, emphasize the necessity from printmaking, concepts and features, the idea of the process of engraving, prints in the form of language and composition of elements, print work materials, texture and shape of the production process and artistic point of view discussed in the teaching of prints. Meanwhile, by introducing the tool for engraving materials and methods discussed in basic courses in shape to possibilities of print in basic courses of plastic arts. The conclusion stresses that print has become a way for people experience the world and it is benefit for improving the ability of students for appreciating the arts.
