This research aims at exploring the influential mechanism from coping style and social support to general self-efficacy, and exploring the function of coping style between social support and general self-efficacy.The Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), Social Support Questionnaire(SSQ) and General Self-efficacy Questionnaire (GSQ) were administrated to238high-level athletes in college in Hu’ nan by randomly cluster sampling. The conclusions drawn by this research were as following:First, the degree of social supports general self-efficacy high-level athletes in college in Hu’ nan was above average. There were no significant differences on demographic variables on social support. General Self-efficacy had significantly different on length of training and athlete lever.At the same time, the degree of coping style of high-level athletes in college in Hu’ nan was above average. The degree of negative coping style was lower than positive coping style.Second, there was significantly positive correlation between social support and general self-efficacy, as well as positive coping style. Significant correlation was found between positive coping style and general self-efficacy, but negative correlation between negative coping style and general self-efficacy.Third, social support was predictors of positive coping style. The support availability of social support positively predicted general self-efficacy. Positive coping style was predictors of general self-efficacy, while negative coping style had negative effect on that.Fourth, by doing regression analysis we found that positive coping style totally played a role of mediator between support availability and general self-efficacy of high-level athletes in college in Hu’nan.
