| The Sino-Indian boundary issue is an important part of Sino-Indian relations. China-India border had never been officially demarcated, but both sides had a thousands of years of traditional line. On October20,1962, in the Sino-Indian border area a short time military conflict broke out which only lasted more than10days, but had an important effect on the Sino-Indian relations. After new China was founded in1949, Nehru actively developed the relation with China,"India and China are brothers" slogan win supported among the people. However, the Tibet insurgency in1959and the Sino-Indian border dispute made China-India relations deteriorated, finally led to the border conflict broke out on October20,1962. From1949to1962, the development and the evolution of the Sino-Indian border issue suffered the effect of the factors of the Cold War. During the cold war, the United States and the Soviet Union adjusted South Asia strategy, causing the relationship changing of China, the Soviet Union, India, Pakistan and the United States. At the same time, it influenced China and India on making decision on the boundary problem. In this paper the Sino-Indian border conflict as the main line in1962, I will study the factors of the Cold War of the outbreak of Sino-Indian largely influenced.This thesis is composed of four parts which contains introduction, straight matter, conclusion and references. Among these, the straight matter is divided into three parts which respectively studies the factors of the Cold War before of the Sino-Indian border conflict, the outbreak of the conflict and the end of the conflict in1962.In the first part, I will study the factors of the Cold War influenced the Sino-Indian boundary issue during the period of friendly relations between China and India from1949to1959. In the second part, I focus on studying the factors of the Cold War on the impact of the outbreak of the Sino-Indian border conflict in1962. After the Tibet insurgency in1959,the relationship of Sino-Indian deteriorate gradually, eventually led to the Sino-Indian border conflict in1962.The border issues of Sino-Indian heat up by cold war factors under cold environment. The third part, China achieved the second time self-defense war victory, then declared unilateral ceasefire on November21st, India also accepted the ceasefire. At this time, the attitude of the United States and the Soviet Union on the border conflict affected China and India to make or accept the ceasefire decision.In a word, the basic reason of Sino-Indian border conflict erupting in1962is the India succeeded to the aggression and expansion of British had carried out the policy on the Sino-Indian border, but also by the Cold War international situation influenced. |
