Wu Qian was born in a Confucianism family and won the first place in the highestimperial examination when he was23years old. He took the position as officer for morethan40years with various positions which include prime minister twice during LizongEmperor’s time in the Southern Song Dynasty. He took the countries’ affairs as his ownduty and made remarkable suggestions on agriculture, water conservancy, military andpolitical affairs. But due to the treacherous court officials in power, he was suspected byLizong Emperor later on and was demoted and dead in Xunzhou. Wu Qian saved a totalof256poems and all of them were collected in “Full Song”.The first chapter briefly introduces the argument of Wu Qian’s born year and place inacademia and gives a more powerful answer and discusses the research status of hispoem. This is the premise of the research on Wu’s poem. The second chaptersummarizes the diverse content of Wu Qian’s poem, such as the emotion during difficulttime and regrets, the boredom in imperial, fame and wealth, the wishes to the country’sfuture and people’s difficulties as well as the love for rural scenery and home life. Therichness and diversity of the contents illustrate Wu Qian’s complex experience and thetangled inner contradictions. The third chapter sums up the artistic charm of Wu Qian’spoem as: the aesthetic characteristics with both excitement and hard, simple and lightflapping language and the structure characteristics of crisscross of twists and turns. Thefourth chapter makes comparison and contrast between Wu Qian’s poem and Jiang Xie’spoem in terms of theme, context and language, which also means the differencesbetween Ci Xin and Sao jas sent. It also shows that Wu Qian learnt the poem style fromJiang Xie.Wu Qian could not cast all his ideas in the unstable political environment in lateSouthern Song Dynasty and his life experience with both ups and downs gave himdifferent experience from ordinary people. The conflict between political weakness,continuous thought consciousness and the pursuit of independent personality, spiritualfreedom made Wu Qian in a state of constant entanglements. This special feeling inmind was combined in the poems creation, which shows the vigorous and painfulemotional style.
