With the development of China’s economy and the improvement of the status ofChina in international stage, the communication with the world has increased. Meanwhile,the demand for interpretation, the communication bridge of the two or more parties, hasrisen accordingly and also aroused more and more attention of the society and experts.However, interpretation, different from translation in special features, is not just thetransition from one language to another one, but it combines the listening, understanding,memory and re-formulation and involves the culture and thinking of the society or group ofthe two or more parties. Therefore, besides the excellent language skill and knowledge, theinterpreter has to master the relevant culture and thinking to perfectly complete the job andcommunication.Interpretation has a long history, but the research on it is very lagging and thedevelopment is very slow. What’s more, the research was also confined to the summariesabout the experience of interpreters and interpretations till the middle of the seventies oftwentieth century. The direction of the research was changed into the process ofinterpreting, namely, on interpreting is on how interpreters think or deal with informationduring interpreting, and laid a solid foundation for the development of interpretationresearch.According to interpretative approach, the interpretation is a complicated thinkingprocess of combination of language skill and knowledge, topic knowledge, currentsituation, culture and thinking. And the School put forward with the important and newconcept of “deverbalization”, which is crucial to interpreting.With further development of interpreting research, the relationship betweeninterpreting and thinking has gradually become a hot issue for the experts, such as BaoGang and Liu Heping. The thesis, on the basis of achievements of the experts, will putemphases on the features, procedures of interpretation, especially conference interpretation, relation of thinking and language and the features of interpretive thinking,with theprinciple of interpretative approach of Paris School in order to provide some strategies fortraining and learning interpretation and put forward some advice for the further research.
