On Comparison Of Marcuse Eros Liberation And Marxist Labor Liberation Theory

With science and technology promotion, in major capitalist countries economic and social productive forces have developed rapidly. And the material became increasingly affluent, wealth accumulated continuously; especially the economic globalization has brought the rapid development for the global economy and trade. But, the great rich material life didn’t correspondingly bring people’s freedom and overall development. In a sense, the developed industrial society realized social control through the science and technology. But people are depressed, assimilated, and deduced to a "one-motional person" with loss of negativity, criticalness and transcendality. It becomes the focus of debate and hot and topic of this essay on how to understand contemporary capitalism of the new changes and development trend; how to inherit and develop Marxism under the new historic environment and how to realize human’s comprehensive free liberation. This paper attempts to summarize the development experiences and lessons in capitalist society through Marx and Marcuse’s liberation theory expounding and comparison. This will also provide the necessary reference for the healthy development of China’s socialist modernization construction.This paper first elaborated Marcuse and Marx’s liberation theory thoughts origin, history background and main contents and did a comprehensive comparative research on all aspects of Marcuse and Marx’s theory of liberation and concluded their relevance and differences. Eventually, it made an objective evaluation of both theories by concluding Marcuse liberation theory’s limitation in the new historical conditions and its succession and development of Marxism. Second, the essay inspired us a lot from the comprehensive comparison of both Marcuse and Marx liberation theory. It told us that we should adhere to the people-oriented scientific development and view it as the guidance in the process of modernization and the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. And we should adhere to the coordinated development of both material civilization and spiritual civilization, trying all our best to realize free and overall development.
