The late Tang dynasty was one period with deep-going transformation including the social and political, ideological and cultural condition. In this period, people’s faith world also had undergone profound change. This article was to analyze the belief of the people who lived in the late Tang dynasty, using The collection of the Epitaph of Tang Dynasty and The sequel of the Epitaph of Tang Dynasty and Entire Donovan Addendum. The methods are statistics by detailed research, and then we can discuss the faith of the late Tang Dynasty tomb owner.Overall, the Confucianism accounted the absolutely proportion in the social belief, Taoism kept stable rise,The Buddhism accounted the minimum proportion in the late Tang dynasty.Also,many people believed the Confucianism and Taoism at the same time. So we can say the late Tang dynasty was one time wtth Confucianism and Buddhism both popular.From the geographical point of view, the northern people epitaph records were more than the number of the Southern, belief was also more complex than the southern provinces. And the tomb concentration region was also the area most aristocratic families in. The more close to the central city area, the belief was also more complex, and people beliefed three religions’ situation was more obvious.For the Nobles and the Commoners, the Nobles more emphasized on Confucianism and Buddhism belief, but the Commoners more emphasized on Confucianism and Taoism. They both focused on the study of Laozi, Zhuangzi and Buddhism, on health and mental release, forming a unique ’scholar of Taoism’ and’theoretical Buddhism’.With the military attache, the proportion of Buddhism and Taoist beliefs was obvious different. Taoism had a large proportion, while Buddhist belief had a small proportion.They focused more on form rather than on moral principles. Eunuch had roughly the same faith with the military attache.Most of them were Taoists, the main reasons was to seek spiritual sustenance. The difference among secular people’s three religions was significantly reduced; the faith had a strong utilitarian.Unlike the men’s faith, Buddhism was late Tang women’s main faith because the responsibility of women in the family and Buddhist reincarnation and redemption values. Half of the women were Buddhist. This belief not only affected their children’s belief, was also an important supplement of the late Tang Dynasty Buddhist faith, but also made a a major change to the traditional funeral concept.
