Cen Shen is a very important and quite distinctive poet in the prosperous time of Tang Dynasty. His works, no matter ancient poems, metrical verses or quatrains, all have made great achievements in art, and are loved and respected by each generation of literati. Especially in the Ming Dynasty when people held the literary thought of retro and advocating Tang, in the aspects of printing Cen Shen’s works, selecting and commenting on Cen Shen’s poems in the tang poetry anthologies, reviewing Cen Shen’s works in poetic writings, and studying Cen Shen’s poems in poetry creation, the Ming Dynasty people all reached the unprecedented scale and level.In this paper, from the perspective of reception theory, I explore how the Ming Dynasty people receive Cen Shen and his works. This paper consists of five parts:Irtroduction:Research status review on the Ming Dynasty people’s acceptance of Cen Shen’s poems.Chapter One:Cen Shen’s works’spreading and printing in the Ming Dynasty. It consists of two sections:section one introduces the Ming Dynasty versions of Cen Shen’s works. I will discuss the Ming Dynasty people’s collecting and arranging Cen Shen’s works gradually, by combining with people’s literature receptive psychology, using the method of comparison, and according (?)time sequence; section two introduces four tang poetry collections of the Ming Dynasty, Tang Shi Ji, Tang Shi Suo, Tang Shi Lei Yuan and Tang Yin Tong Qian, whose collection and arrangement on Cen Shen’s works.Chapter Two:The Ming Dynasty’s tang poetry anthologies’selecting and commenting on Cen Shen’s poems. It consists of two sections:in section one, I will choose five important tang poetry anthologies of the Ming Dynasty, Tang Shi Zheng Sheng, Gu Jin Shi Shan, Tang Shi Jie, Tang Shi Gui and Tang Shi Jing, to reflect the Ming Dynasty’s tang poetry anthologies’ receiving Cen Shen’s poems with the development of the Ming Dynasty people’s poetic ideas, by concretely analyzing and comparing the five tang poetry anthologies’numbers and characteristics of the selected Cen Shen’s poems, and their attentions to Cen Shen; section two introduces a few Ming Dynasty’s tang poetry anthologies’comments on Cen Shen’s poems, to reflect the Ming Dynasty people’s comprehensive understanding of the ideological and artistic characteristics of Cen Shen’s poems, and to reflect each book’s comment features.Chapter Three:The Ming Dynasty’s poetic writings’reviews on Cen Shen’s works. It consists of three sections:reviews on Cen Shen’s works in the important poetic writings of the early and middle Ming Dynasty, reviews on Cen Shen’s works in the important poetic writings of the late Ming Dynasty, and reviews on Cen Shen’s Zao Chao Shi. I will introduce the Ming Dynasty people’s much different reviews on Cen Shen’s each form of poems based on the different literary ideas, and reveal the fact that the acceptance of Cen Shen’s works in the Ming Dynasty’s poetic writings experiences a course from deficient generalization to elaborate analysis.Chapter Four:The Ming Dynasty people’s recieving Cen Shen’s poems in poetry creation. It consists of two sections:section one introduces Gao Bing, Sun Fen and other poets who study Cen Shen’s poems; section two introduces the Ming Dynasty people’s creations of Songs of Triumph which succeed to Cen Shen’s Songs of Triumph and do some change.
