This paper mainly analyzes the similarities and differences of starts the landscape pastoral poetry between Wang Wei and Meng Haoran.The article begins simply with the general developing situation of landscape pastoral poetry in old generations and flourishing age in Tang Dynasty.Then analyzes the similarities and differences between Wang Wei’s and Meng Haoran’s landscape pastoral poetry from the three aspects:thought and feelings,art character and status influence.In the aspect of thought and feelings,the two poets have not only similarities but also differences.The poets both express the same sympathies:idyllic delight,hermetical interests and thoughts.The auther discussed the affection tension through expressing ideals, touching deeply about reality.feelings of homesickness and departing.The third chapter is the main part and there are five sections. The first section is differential comparison from technique of expression.It analyzes colored drawing of Wang wei’s and line drawing of Meng haoran’s and commonness that thaw sound intopoems. The second section analyzes space-time combining in poems and effect by dymanic and static cross-liner from artistic conception.The third section analyzes image position which made of key words.The common key words are "clear""empty""deep""light". There are more "clear""empty""leisure" in Wang wei’s while there are much "fresh""light" in Meng haoran’s. The fourth section analyzes the different manifestations between "selfless state" and "obliviouse of me" The fifth section summarizes art style from three parts:1.Leisurely and refined taste is the common art style.2. Wang wei’s leisure and Meng Haoran’s plain in style.3.Both of them have the common style of grand.The fourth part of the article summarized the landscape pastoral poem’s status and influence of Wang Wei and Meng Haoran. Wang Wei is the greatest poet in history of the landscape pastoral poetry. And Meng Haoran is the first person who had created a lot of landscape pastoral poetry. At the same time, Wang Meng push Chinese classical landscape pastoral poetry art to the highest peak. WangMeng’s poems had an important effect on the future generation in landscape pastoral poetry.
