Contemporary music therapy has to be regarded as an interdisciplinary system combining medicine, psychology, musicology, and further social and cultural sciences. According to historical medical records music was already in ancient times used for health purposes. During the last decades, music therapy has become more and more important for clinical, educational, preventive, and wellness-associated purposes.This MA-thesis focuses on outlining and analyzing characteristic misunderstandings and specific problems during the music therapeutic developments in China then discovering crucial points for improvements of music therapy in future. Especially dealing with the situation of music therapy in Austria which has a long scientific and clinical tradition integrating medical, psychological, and educational approaches, these investigations try to show possibilities for improvements of music therapy in China. According to principles of comparative research the author tries to make use of in-depth analysis of own music-therapeutic investigations and experiences in Austria in order to discover crucial points for enhancement of music therapy in China. In addition to the scientific features of this thesis, the author wants to contribute to a prosperous development of music therapy as a clinical means as well as a profession in China. |
