The purpose of this study was to investigate student’s emotional intelligence and explore the relationships among student’s emotional intelligence、parenting style、and self-esteem. Seven hundred and fifteen students in middle school were measured with Yue Dongmei’s EMBU、 Wang Caikang’s EIS and Wei Yunhua’s CSES. The results of the study were following:1. There were no significant gender and grade differences in student’s emotional intelligence.2. Obvious positive correlations were found between emotional intelligence and parenting style, emotional intelligence and self-esteem, parenting style and self-esteem.3. Parenting style and self-esteem had directly prominent prediction function on student’s emotional intelligence, which can explain32.2%of it.4、Self-esteem mediated parenting style and self-esteem. |
