Sino-vietnamese words as a concept are very familar to everyone in Vietnam.The simple reason is that the Sino-vietnamese words are account for more than60%vocabulary of Vietnamese words. Sino-vietnamese words take a significant role in Politics, Economy and culture in Vietnam. Meanwhile, the Sino-vietnamese words usually remind people of Han and Vietnam of the two key factors of Chinese and Vietnamese. China and Vietname are linked by mountains and waters. People between the two countries have been visited each other long before. Chinese oral words and Chinese were spread to Vietname, and had became a united and uniform words for long in Vietnamese. So Chinese gives a significan effect on Vietnamese, and the two kinds of languages are in closed relation.Everybody of Vietnamese are inclined to remind of the Sino-Vietnamese words when they face a new word at the begining of learning Chinese. So we know that the Sino-Vietnamese words give a profound effect on the Vietnam students’Chinese learning. Considering the language relation of Sino-Vietnamese words to Chinese, it helps to improve the understanding of the similarities and the differences from Sino-vietnamese words to Vietnamese words, and gives a hand to improve the effect on learning Chinese. The author made a comparison study on the meaning of Sino-Vietnamese words and the counterpart in modern Chinese in order to find out the same and the difference from Sino-V ietnamese words to the counterpart in modern Chinese. Meanwhile, considering that the Vietnamese as a native language gives a negative effect when the Vietnames students learn Chinese, the author also makes a study on the Sino-Vietnamese words and gives a positive transfering and negative transfering effect on Vietnamese students when they learn Chinese.The following items are the main study points in this thesis:1. Foreword:Introduce the reason of choosing this thesis, aim and range of studying as well as the study status of Sino-Vietnamese words, including the Sino-Vietnamese words and the counterpart words in modern chinese.2. Introduce the profile of Sino-Vietnamese words, including the specific definition, history and development as well as the significant roles in Vietnamese.3. Make a detailing comparison study on the meaning of Sino-Vietnamese words and the counterpart in modern Chinese. It focuses on the following:the similarities of meaning, the similarities of basic meanning, and the diffrences of basic meaning.4. Emphasy the negative transfer effect of Sino-Vietnamese words on Vietnamese students’Chinese learning as well as the positive transfer effect. Some useful suggestions about teaching Chinese course are based on this opinion.
