| In ancient China, the imperial power was the traditional autocratic political system,in this system neither anyone nor family dare share power with the emperor. But at theend of the turbulent Eastern Han Dynasty, the lineage possessed the strength to competefor power gradually. After the destruction of the eastern Jin dynasty, a large numbersof northern scholar clans and the Imperial Remnant moved southward and then wereforced to crown an emperor in order to safeguard their own exploitation rule not beinginfringed. In the regime, the Monarch who acted as thesupreme power center formed the power circle, people with close relationship with theMonarch were the policy makers, together they constituted the interest group, themembers were usually subjected to the supreme power center. The determination of theemperor was according to the need of the interest group regardless of the state.Therefore, the political situation in the East Jin Dynasty retained relatively stable inalmost one century after being founded. |
