In five thousand years of history of our country, there had been an active minority nationality in ancient northeast China--GAOGOULI who had produced splendid culture which had played an important role in contributing to the Chinese civilization. The historical data GAOGOULI left were extremely limited for some reasons, fortunately, the tomb chambers mural paintings in GAOGOULI that could be used as a carrier of culture and art research had been preserved. This paper studied the tomb chambers mural paintings in JI’ANGAOGOULI distributing within the territory of China as the main object, combined with the tomb chambers mural paintings in northern Korea’s GAOGOULI. Its’themes and content had been analyzed system and its evolution also been based on its process. This paper was divided into four parts:The first part was introduced the background of research, and summarized the existing research results and discussed the topic’s meaning. The second part which was important in this paper had been summed up the four basic categories:war scenes, social life and spirit worship and auspicious patterns through analyzing their theme and content about the tomb chambers mural paintings in GAOGOULI system. It elaborated and classified the tomb chambers mural paintings’themes and content above on the four basic categories in this part. The third part was discussed the cause about the evolvement of the tomb chambers mural paintings in JI’ANGAOGOULI according to the earlier, middle, later three periods type. The fourth part was epilogue, which reaffirmed the topic’s research meaning.
