| The old testament was the religious classical work of the Hebrews, which covereda large of contents. Before the20th century, the Old Testment was mainly interpretedfrom the view of religion by people, which revealed its religional connotation, that isthe divine in the Old Testment. After the20thcentury, the scholars began to interpret theOld Testment as a literature work, ignoring the holy connotation and its ideologyfunction of a religious as well as the holy connotation text. And thus the original idea ofthe Old Testment was distored.Therefore the paper interpreted some key points in the Old Testment by thenarrative theory, which incorprated the special religional implication in the OldTestment from the part of the text to the whole text.The paper was divided into three parts. The first chapter introduced the reverencespirit which run through the paper. The reverence to the God was the basic narrativeattitude in the Old testment which not only set up the divine connotation of the OldTestment but also centralized the narrative view of the generations of the editors. Thesecond chapter explained how to express the God namely the divine of the God byanalyzing the testment and instruction in the Old Testment. The third part mainlystudied the value of mundane and ethic in the divine to state it was because of itsrational thought that the Old Testment had been famous for thousands of years as areligious classic work. Although it was a religional classic, the education of the ethicmorality was one of its important points in the paper.The view in the paper was that the Old Testment had been passed on for thousandsof years because of its perfect integration of divine and mundane which built up thereligious belief of the people, and at the same time which it is also the significance tothe real life of the Hebrews. |
