Whether in qing dynasty literature, or in chinese history, vernacular novel is aunique existence, which also has a special positionin in the civilian literary history.The SanXia WuYi "is the representative work of late qing dynasty chivalrous novel, andis a important study object of the late qing dynasty chivalrous literature to the academicboundary.on the basis of previous studies, this paper studied the chivalrous world of theSanXia WuYi.I got the conclusion about the inheritance and the new changes of the "SanXia ","WuYi" s chivalrous spirit mainly through the analysis of the chivalrouscharacters.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter traces the chivalrous characters appeared in the authorizedhistory and ancient literary works through the concept "chivalrous man",and points outthe different chivalrous men’s image of the various periods of literary works, theinheritance and evolution of the chivalrous spirit.The second chapter researches the image of the whole chivalrous man to discusstheir group general character.It broadly states the good qualities of the chivalrousmen,such as take others troubles seriously,value the sentiment andrighteousness,contribute for their country and people.At the same time, this chapteranalyses the common persons that have chivalrous spirit,and points out their greatqualities.They are the very people who have constructed the chivalrous world with thechivalrous men.The third chapter describes and dissects the individual character of the chivalrousmen,such as the generous chivalrous man called ZhanZhao,the benevolent chivalrousman called OuYangchun,the chivalrous man called BaiYutang who was good at bothcivil and military,the humour and cunning chivalrous man called JiangPing,the cleverand manful chivalrous man called ZhiHua.This chapter describes all these persons’chivalrous behaviours,such as zap the scoundrels and help the kind people,help thepoors,and deeply show the chivalrous men’s distinctive features and actions,whichenriches and shows their personalitys from different sides.The fourth chapter basically analyses the connotation of the chivalrous mancultural,and extrude the Chinese traditional culture breeded by the chivalrous men.Thischapter discusses the connotation and new change of the WuYi SanXia’s chivalrous spirit and clear the differert features they had,such as zap the bads according tolaw,loyal to the wise and able rulers,contribute for their country and people.Andbecause the SanXia WuYi "largely lessons from the legendary hero of the marsh, thischapter compared these two works,and place particular emphasis on the analysis of theirdifferent feature about life,ruler,attitude to women and highlighted the uniquecharacteristics of the " SanXia ","WuYi".Chapter5discussed the affection of the model of the chivalrous men,from the twosides times factors and the development of literature itself.Though these,we get theconclusion that the appearance of the chivalrous men were connected with so manyfactors,such as the condition of the society,the policy of the rulers,the wish of the peopleand the author, the influence of other literature.
