A Study Of The Papery Form Of Book Design In The Background Of Digital Reading

Digitalization, as an important sign of the modern world，is influencing every aspectin human society. As an important part of human life, reading has also been affected bydigitalization is inevitable. Digital reading is emerging as a new form of reading，the majorstatus of traditional reading and the paper book has been impacted. Thus new pressures andchallenges were brought to book design. We should pay more attention to book design andstrive to raise the standards of it.This thesis focuses on the situation of book design and the counter-measures in thebackground of digital reading. Through deeply analyses and research, it use papery form asa breakthrough of book design, which could raise book design from a new angle, give fullplay to the advantage and quality of the paper book and so as to make it more attractive,amiable and charming. In the very beginning, this thesis introduces the present state ofbook design in the context of digital reading, describing the explanation of the digitalreading, the theoretical research and the practical exploration of book design in the contextof digital reading. Next, it describes the explanation of the paper book, analyzes itscharacteristics and superiority. Again, it analyzes the papery form in book design,examines the relationship between the papery form and book design and put emphasis onthe performance of the papery form in book design. Then, discuss the developmenttendency of papery form and its influence on book design. In the end, we proposed:traditional reading is essential and paper books will last for ever.
