Zhang Siwei was born in a business family of Shanxi Province, and received a good Confucianism education since he was young. Under the influence of his uncle Wang Chonggu and friend Yang Bo, Zhang Siwei knew the Military affairs very well, the Agreement of Long Qing was an opportunity for him to get into the Ming Cabinet. The relationship between Zhang Siwei and Zhang Juzheng changed all the time, and it could be divided into five stages:The first two stages linked closely with Gao Gong, Zhang Siwei was a confidant of Gao Gong, and Gao Gong was familiar with Zhang Juzheng at fisrt and therefore their relationship could be described as friendly in the years of Long Qing; But it changed since Zhang Siwei followed Gao Gong left the government because of Zhang Juzheng’s trick.Soon after Zhang Siwei returned the court two years later, Zhang Juzheng recommended him into the Ming Cabinet, and in this period of time their relationship became well even more than before; But it did not last too long, Zhang Siwei grown intolerant of Zhang Juzheng’s autocratic ways and harsh political views, eventually their relationship broke down irretrievably.Zhang Siwei became the minister of Ming Cabinet after Zhang Juzheng died.Although their political views were different, Zhang Siwei maked a great effort for Zhang Juzheng’s reputation.Zhang Siwei did the minister just ten months, but some of Zhang Juzheng’s reform measures was overthrown in this period of time, even more it brought a deep influence to Ming Dynasty. However we can not say it’s totally Zhang Siwei’s responsibility.
