Embodied Knowing Thus Earnestly Practice:the Study On The"Holy Secret" Of Taigu School

Taigu School,founded in middle Qing Dynasty by Zhou Taigu, which was popular in the late Qing and early Republican in Shandong and Jiangsu Provinces,was a folk Confucianism with a strong religious overtones. Having a comprehensive study on classics of Confucianism,having an integration of thought of Buddhism and Taoism,its the ideology of the saint realm of Confucianism symbolizing theory of life realm.Zhou Taigu claimed its culture as "the study of moral meditation".Disciples of the school self-proclaimed as "the scholar of moral meditation". The concern is that, disciples of the Taigu school,who to achieve "the study of moral meditation" with the "holy secret", attributed originally belonged to the Taoist Inner Alchemy introductory:"Being interdependent with heart and breath". This paper attempts to questioning: a Taoist introductory exercises, how to become the key to achieve the highest pursuit of Sage for a Confucian school? In other words, whether Taigu School has a special meaning different from the Taoist introductory by the "Being interdependent with heart and breath".This paper argues that the meaning of "Being interdependent with heart and breath"for the Taigu School, not only because it provides a very workable technology approach to expanding virtue and to reach for the ideal personality,more a reflection of its behind the the spirit of a probity practice. This spirit has shaped the overall style of the school (religious sect) in the civil Confucian School. The spirit to be seen in "personal cultivation" level,which changing the body to altered outlook of the spiritual and moral and progressing of cultivation step by step, and also embodied in its practice line filial and friends of the"raising a family "life ethics, as well as to the responsibility of rearing the world, focusing on the power of the real facts in the" running the country and pacify the whole society" level.This paper contains five parts, three text chapters, plus introduction and conclusion.In the Introduction, we made a brief description of Taigu School’s foundation and development at first, and the origin of this article topics, then summarized the research results related to the topics, and on the basis of this writing, introduced the ideas, the basic framework and innovation place. In the first chapter,we made an approach to the origin,the path of status evolution and the meaning of the"Being interdependent with heart and breath" in Taoism and Taigu School, and noted that Taigu School is highly regarded as the basic exercises of Taoist Inner Alchemy-"Being interdependent with heart and breath" and be elevated to the height of "holy secret ", but trying to make the sanctification work more effectively. In the second chapter,we analyzed the theory of personal cultivation of Confucian and Taigu School to comparison the proportion and effect of spiritual dimension and body dimension in each one,compared to the heavier the spiritual dimension of Official Confucian personal cultivation,the Taigu School’s work on the rather heavy body dimensions, reflecting its pragmatic spirit of the individual cultivation.Following the first two chapters of personal self-cultivation of the inspection, in the third chapter, investigated two aspects of the ethics of life (raising a family) and social practice (running the country and pacify the whole society)of the distinguishing characteristics of "thought of applying theory to reality". In summary, started by the "holy secret ""Being interdependent with heart and breath", which were popular between disciples of Taigu School, as the introduction of investigation, can be seen, there is a main line throughout the areas of Saint and Emperor of Taigu School, which is just the spirit of pragmatism,that is a self-adaptation and innovation of Confucian in a particular background in civil implement.
