A Study Of C-e Translation Of Tourist Introduction From Skopostheory Perspective

China’s opening-up policy boosts the prosperous growth of tourism, whichsymbolizes that more and more foreigners come to China, at the same time, we canpropagate our culture and tourist attraction to the world , so tourist translation playsan important role in presenting a promising prospect of China’s tourism. But owing tothe tourist text involves a great deal of knowledge in various fields, and the touristmaterial is in a deficient state, so it brings about the difficulty for tourist translation,and mistranslation is frequently found in the translation of tourist text, whichundoubtedly exerts a negative influence on the development of tourism and touristtranslation.The major function of C-E translation of tourist introduction is to publicizeChina’s unique tradition and culture, and to arouse the foreigners’interest oftravelling to China. The functionalist skopostheory, as the main theory of thefunctionalist school, focuses on not the equivalence or the perfection of the translatedtext, but satisfying its prospective goal by means of choosing the best translatingmethods. As the skopostheory revolves around the target readers, and emphasizestheir reaction and acceptability of the translated text, it can be used to guide touristtranslation to avoid mistranslation and misunderstanding.Under the guidance of the functionalist skopostheoy, combining it with thetranslating features of tourist introduction, the translators can adopt various translatingstrategies to make the translated text readable and acceptable from the readers’pointof view. At last it summarizes the importance ofskopostheory in tourist introduction and the translating strategies of C-E translation oftourist introduction.
