Brecht advocated a theory of drama that must closely contact with times and timely represent it. He tried to make the old drama adapt to the scientific (Marx doctrine) social theory. He made a bold innovation and experiment by the use of the scientific method of the dialectical materialism in the field of drama art. Based on hypothesis principle of drama, he makes audience pay attention to the hypothesis of the performance on stage. By exposing the scenery, making pause and strengthening the drama plot, the actor’s estrange way of performance let the audiences know the imitation and hypothesis characteristics of theatre arts, let the audience out of the resonance with roles and perceive and judge the plot and the character in the rational condition. The estrange way of performance restrict and weaken the resonance and theater illusion of experiential drama, which allow viewers to generate a weak hallucinations with a moderate experience in both emotion and reason. It realizes the audience’s aesthetic imagination and stimulates the creation of subject. Epic Drama advocate that art and science must rationally blend with each other, and education and entertainment must effectively be combined with. Audiences who interested in understanding of the world and changing the world can see a world on stage which can be changed and is changing. In the world of stage, the mystery of human society can be explored. And then audiences can enjoy the passion of observation and finding and generate a rich aesthetic experience which contain the real, good, and beauty.
