As a social problem and philosophical issue, violence can always cause the sensation all over the world and is well-known for its artistic character. After numerous artists exploring the stylish features of violence, the term "violence aesthetics " has been highlighted as a new aesthetic mode.Quentin and Yu Hua, both known as the outstanding pioneers and creators in their times, are highly stylized for "Violence Aesthetics". Quentin is a prominent film director as well as the master of "violence aesthetics" in the U.S. film field for his unique and distinctive style. In1994, Quentin’s film "Pulp Fiction" won the Cannes Golden Palm Award due to its superior artistic style and was labeled as the first independent film in the U.S.regarding the highest box office with more than one billion dollars, which is a myth of film history. Yu Hua, famous for his vivid portray of gore, violence, death, and the darkness of reality, is one of the representatives among the Chinese pioneer writers. Yu Hua’s works such as "On a Long Journey","The Error",""One Kind of Reality" and "Classical Love" has a strong experimental feature, thus has aroused the extensive attention from the literary world and far-reaching influence on modern literature.This paper states the origin and main artistic characteristics of "violence aesthetics ", analyzes the main similarities and differences of in Quentin and Yu Hua’s works and further explains the reasons. Therefore, the unique artistic style of "Violence Aesthetics" can be evaluated and proved not only in movie but also in text. The paper illustrates that the "Violence Aesthetics" in Quentin and Yu Hua’s works reflects their own specific social background and cultural origin, and thus their own artistic style come into being. The similarity of the two artists lies in their creative complex of violence, stern narrative strategy and the subversive aesthetic expectations of the readers. The paper also focus on the value and significance of "Violence Aesthetics" in Quentin and Yu Hua’s works, which revels the profound meanings for catering the popular aesthetic concept.
