| Chinese idiom plays important role of Chinese vocabulary and it’s a special kind in the modern Chinese vocabulary. Chinese idiom as a language construct forms after a long history of precipitation. Overseas students are very interesting in idiom. But because of its difficult to understand and there are obstacles in learning. Nowadays, the research about the strategy of teaching Chinese idiom is seldom, Further study is necessary. This article uses the theory abort language chunks, explores and discusses the Chinese Idiom and it as a foreign language phrase teaching from this new perspective.This article includes six parts.The first chapter discusses the feasibility of the study by reviewing the relevant research. Determine the research goal of this article, theory foundation and research methods.The second chapter defined in this paper to study the narrow sense of the idiom. Preliminarily analyze the idiom distribution of related outlines and teaching materials and the error situations of students use the idioms.The third chapter elaborates the theory of language chunks. Based on ontology research, analyzing the form,structure, meaning and pragmatics conditions of idioms using chunks theory.The fourth chapter proposes the feasible strategies and methods of Chinese idiom teaching as foreign language.The fifth chapter uses an example of a specific text and designs teaching cases and exercises.The sixth chapter summarizes the basic understanding and the shortages of this article.This article with the situation that the students use the phrase, as well as the practical problems in the teaching of Chinese idiom as a foreign language as a precondition.
