Teaching design is a teacher’s processing of text information, and a planning to teaching activities. Itis process of systematical design and realization of learning objectives. It follows the principle of resultmaximum and represents the development quality of teaching material. Based on certain teaching theoryand text, as well as his own understanding, a teacher has to reorganize and process text information, makethem better adaptable to students and satisfy their learning requirements. In general, teaching design is theredefinition of text information.When teaching Chinese to foreigners, especially in comprehensive Chinese class, teachers not onlyhave to undertake multiple teaching tasks of characters, words, sentences, grammar and culture, but alsocombine the knowledge of education and psychology, so as to deeply analyzing and researching teachingobjectives, evaluating individual differences, taking corresponding measures to integrate current teachingmaterials and resources. Only through this way can they motivate students’ interests and effectivelycomplete teaching work. In this paper, with text Please Pass Me Your Passport and Ticket as example, Imade a teaching design in order to explain my research on how to effectively design a Chinese class.The paper includes the following four parts:Part one is the introduction, which explains the research background, cited documents, andinnovations in teaching design.Part two shows the foundations of text Please Pass Me Your Passport and Ticket, whichdemonstrates the concepts and methods of designing based on six aspects of text analysis, class analysis,rules adoption, teaching method selection, time scheduling, and development of teaching utilities.Part three is the main body of this paper, which shows the detailed design of the text. This partcovers seven sections of teaching objective, contents, targets, emphasis and difficulties, preparation, timeschedule, flowchart and designing purpose. It carefully discusses the design of each section, striving tomake teaching process, method selection and exercise arrangement closer to foreign students’ leaningability and habits, so as to make Chinese teaching work more efficiently.Part four is the conclusion, which summarizes useful tryouts and remaining problems in this paper, hoping the teaching design work could be further optimized and improved in future researches.
