Shaanxi Province Cultural Industries And Economic Growth

The21st century is the era of knowledge economy, while the effects of culture in many fields are increasingly obvious in this era and the economization of culture has become the trend of the time. As one of the fastest growing sunrise industries, the cultural industry has become an important force in stimulating economic growth in many regions. But in our country, the importance of the development of cultural industries do not get enough attention and existing researches mostly just stay in the qualitative analysis on economic phenomenon of the cultural industries. There is little study on the issue that the cultural industries promote the economic growth.Many scholars’ studies show that the cultural industries indeed take a role which-is can’t be ignored in promoting to economic growth. But our country has a vast territory and the developments of cultural industries in each province vary widely. This paper chooses the Shanxi Province as an object of study, mainly because the cultural resources of Shanxi Province are rich and its development potential is enormous, but now the development is unsatisfactory. Through the study on the cultural industry in Shanxi Province, we can find out how the Shanxi cultural industry effects the national economic growth, then obtain the level of cultural industry in Shanxi Province among the whole country. The ultimate goal is to get reasonable and effective advices to the cultural industries policy.This article features reflect in the scope of the study and research methods of the paper. First, There is little research work on the development of cultural industry, especially the western provinces, so this paper attempts to do some work on this issue, In addition, most of articles focus on the qualitative analysis, here we try to do some work in quantitative analysis. In empirical research, the regression analysis is used on Shanxi cultural industries’economic contribution to the Shanxi economic growth, and finally through factor analysis, we decide the development level of cultural industry in Shanxi among the whole country. And then the problems of the Shanxi cultural industry development are discussed. At the last we give the policy recommendations on the development of cultural industry in Shanxi Province.
