"Implied author" is an important theoretical concepts proposed by Wayne booth in "the rhetoric of fiction", which has experienced more than fifty years of debate and practice with a unique charm. This thesis, based on previous discourse and outcomes, will trace the times background and theoretical origin, summarize Booth’s explanations of the concept in different stages. On this basis, there will be a combing about the Chinese and Western scholars’debate. On the value of "implied author" this article affirms the fuzzy of concept which brought enormous space for interpretation, but also admittedly, the implied author, based on the "author","reader" and "text", cannot become an independent literary subject.Accurate redefinition of the implied author, have great significance for exploring the prospects of the implied author in Chinese Literature Context. By using the concept, we attempt to expand the space of traditional Chinese literary theory and explore its effect on the interpretation of classical Chinese poetry. Finally, combined with the marginalization of the21st century literature and the arrival of the "media age", we will think about how the implied author can breakthrough the limitations of narratology to apply in the field of mass culture, and promote contemporary ethical concern significance.
