The Western Novels And Ecological Consciousness

The ecological consciousness as perspective and an entry point, the western novel as a study text in this paper, discusses the ecological consciousness in western fiction. The main body is divided into five parts.The first part of the definition of ecology, ecological awareness and the western novel. Ecological awareness, pay close attention to human life state and conscious thinking, and the action and exploration of natural and man co-exist, sustainable development, the harmony. Western Fiction was origined in the1980s, western history and reality as basis, influenced by the Western regional cultural, reflecting the phenomenon of a literary creation of the western natural ecology, cultural landscape, the spiritual connotation.The second part discusses the flourishing of ecological awareness, and pointed out that this is an important background of the contemporary western novels. Human of modern society is full of living dilemma and spiritual crisis, ecological literary expression of this phenomenon; the most distinctive feature of western ecological literature is the depiction of the natural landscape and regional characteristics.The third part, the performance of ecological consciousness in the western novel, is the focus of this paper. Concept of the ecological consciousness of western novels from five aspects:[a] the binary relation of the natural and human works (b) natural deterioration and loss of their homes (c) protecting and saving and the pursuit of poetic (d) the myth of implication in the ecological consciousness (e) the ecological consciousness of the western novel implication of the expansion.Part IV, pointing out that the existence of defects and shortcomings of western ecological novel, and possibly work towards.Part V discusses the quality of ecological literature is ecological holism. From anthropocentrism to ecological holism, which is the advances in understanding of ecological issues, the pursuit of the ecological literature.
