Namely, bothof Chinese and English poets:â‘ use the same writing skill of turning abstractto real and utilizing verbs to depict impalpable object.â‘¡strengthen the artisticappeal with the striking contrast.â‘¢use movements to write calm scene andexpress dynamic scenery by describing static.â‘£humanize the substance anddescribe human as objects. The demonstration of the whole thesis is fulfilledwith the dialectical theory of antinomy and unification. Further confirmed thateven in different cultural background, Chinese and English poetry are roughlythe same on their artistic conception. The thesis will also enrich the theory ofwestern culture comparative research from the angle of aesthetics. This thesis aims to help English learners to enjoy the content of Chinese and English poetry and improve their interest and understanding of western culture.Poetry, as a cultural manifestation, plays a decisive role in Sino-Western culturalexchanges. It will greatly improve their interest on English literature. It alsogives the key to open the door of understanding western culture background, soas to promote the exchange of Chinese and Western culture.Although the thesis intends to give several examples to show the detailsimilarities between Chinese and English poetry, the poetry selection wascompleted by the author independently. To some extent, there is certainsubjectivity on the selection of the original poems and the analysis of the poetrycreation techniques. Because time is limited, the quantity of selected poems asillustration is also limited; the analysis of this article may not deep and completeenough. If more poems have been selected to carry on the contrastive analysis, the results of the research will be more accurate and helpful.
