Preliminary Study On The Debugging Form And Harmonic Language In Shostakovich’s Piano Works

Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich (1906-1975) was a famous composer, pianist and social activist of the twentieth century in Soviet, and he was one of the greatest Symphony composers in that century.His creation has a unique style on the basis of inheriting the traditional composing techniques. On the one hand, Shostakovich insisted on using the classic traditional composing techniques,on the other hand, he boldly applied chromaticism and harmonic techniques with a new color of the twentieth century in his creation.This is reflected not only in his symphonic music, but also in his piano works of various period in different degree and different emphasis point.Regarding the piano works Shostakovich created in various period as the starting point, this paper mainly conducts the research from the debugging form and harmonic language and make a careful analysis to his creation technique,then arrange and conclude it, trying to sum up his unique creation style for laying the foundation to carry a further research on harmony creation style of Shostakovich.This paper mainly divide into four parts to spread out exposition:Chapter 1 a brief description of Shostakovich’s life and his main piano creationMaking a brief introduction to Shostakovich’s life, hackling all his piano works in chronological order and making a corresponding summary on creation characteristics of his works of various periods.Chapter 2 debugging form in Shostakovich’s piano musicThis part is the study of music score ontology, mainly analyze it from the debugging synthesis.Chapter 3 harmonic language of Shostakovich’s piano musicThis part continues to make a study on music score ontology, mainly focus on chord structure and harmonic progression. conclusionThis part is to conclude and summarize Shostakovich’s unique harmonic creation language and draw a conclusion according to the above analysis.
