| The great Anti-Japanese War of China started at the very time1937, which had to-tally changed our country, including her political structure. Afterward, the NationalGovernment moved from eastern to a western city, and Chungking became its contem-porary capital. This movement also brought Chungking great opportunities to moveforward and promoted it to be the cultural center during war time. Within plenty of ma-jor newspapers moving in and more fabulous literary writers gathered, Chungking alsobecame the public opinion center at that time. The news opinion is a special kind of public opinion which is a balance of theprocessing of expression with great authority and guidement. Its subject usually is newsmedia or media people. As a news media, Party newspaper’s opinion naturallyrepresents its party views. This research based on the party paper of the Chinese com-munist party and the Kuomingtang——“Sin Xua Rhbao†and “Central Daily Newsâ€,takes their reports on literature and art, editorials and debates as the research object, through the way of historical research, quantitative research and so on, makes a com-parative analysis of their literary opinion, attempts to summarize the Sin Xua Rhbao andCentral Daily News’ pros and cons in literary and art, propaganda and controversy.Firstly, the article described Chungking’s cultural ecology at war-time, introducedwartime cultural center status of Chungking from the part of “writers gatheredâ€,“nu-merous worksâ€,“speech platformsâ€, and “cultural control measuresâ€. Then we focusedon the Central Daily News from15September1938to16August1945, and Sin XuaRhbao between25October1938and15August1945as the main research domain. From Central Daily News’s view style, layout and special column style, we can see theparty paper of KMT’s style of editing and cultural report. It is also the implement of thecultural policy of KMT. From the newspaper’s status and development of the supple-ment editing, we can see the supplement of Sin Xua Rhbao’s characteristics and au-dience.Secondly, there were four large-scale literary and art controversies happened inChungking during Anti-Japanese War:“nothing to do with the warâ€,“the popular andnational form of literatureâ€,“warring states†and “the relationship between Literatureand Warâ€. During this four literary controversies,“Central Daily News†and “Sin XuaRhbao†both took part in actively. Study on the two papers’ proformance in this four controversis, we found out that the two papers’ participation reflecting the Kuomintangand Community party all played important attention on the culture leadership.Thirdly, from the part of editorial, audience and literature hot spots, we put thenumbers, focus and level of attention together to contrast between Central Daily Newsand Sin Xua Rhbao, and analyzed their contribution in the literary movement ofChungking at war time. This paper’s research methods are cross-analysis of the history of the Press andcommunication, the combination of quantitative and content analysis. This article sug-gests that under the background of the Sino-Japanese and founding a new China,“SinXua Rhbao†and “Central Daily News†could consciously carry the banner of cultureinto the union front of the Sino-Japanese war, and make full use of culure’s advantage atuniting people against Japanese, and lanch fundraising activities as charity to raisemoney, war mobilization and reward troops by culture. Nevertheless, the difference ofclass position make “Sin Xua Rhbao†readers broader and including more civilians, be-sides,“Sin Xua Rhbao†had more skills to guiding the public opinion better, and waseasily able to grip the hot point, guide people’s opinion and catch the readers’ attentionon layout. In addition, its editorial team had striked a balance between the specializationparty view and all these accounted for the advantage of “Sin Xua Rhbao†on the An-ti-Japan’s culture opinion. Because of adhering to the identified audience, paying a highattention to the editing in journal practice and social activeties,“Sin Xua Rhbao†hadgrown up and made a large development and expansion in National Government newscontrol, and became the Communist Party’s another army. |
