This paper had two vocabulary tests for intermediate foreign students in Schoolof Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at the beginning and end of last term, anddid statistical analysis to the test result from aspects of different levels and motherlanguage backgrounds. It also inspected the relation between vocabulary quantity andability of using them, and analyzed the impact of vocabulary teaching.There are some discoveries: first, the foreign students’ number of vocabulary is2456at the beginning of the term, and4851at the end,2395enlarging; second, theirlevel is higher, their mastery of higher level vocabulary can reflect more about theirvocabulary level; third, their level is higher, the the relation between vocabularyquantity and ability of using them is higher; forth, the impact of middle-level one andtwo is better than three and four.The author hopes this paper may be helpful for middle-level vocabulary teaching,especially let teachers know more clearly about the exact number of their students’vocabulary, which can help them to guide their students’ vocabulary learning morepointed. |
