The Application Research Of Laiwu Tin Sculpture In Mondern Decoration Art Design

Laiwu is located in Tai Yi district in the center of Shandong, and is an importantsmelting center of Spring and Autumn Period. The brilliant mining and metallurgycivilization with its unique pulse exudes a strong flavor and conveys nourishment to thetraditional folk art. Tin sculpture, this hand-carved art, is the wonderful fruit of thispulse. It is a product of mining and metallurgy culture in Laiwu, and also the fruit of thelocal folk culture.This paper uses the history of tin culture as a starting point, analyses the tinculture’s origin, development and current situation along the long river of history andrefines the historical pulse of tin culture. Based on the literature, through on-the-spotinvestigation, the paper explores the development journey of tin culture in Laiwu.Through studying tin sculpture modeling and decorative pattern, it analyses it’s culturalconnotation and highlights the value of this traditional folk arts. Then, through studyingthe trend of modern decorative design, it excavates the communion between tin andmodern ornaments, and put forwards the realistic meaning of tin sculpture. Finally, backto the practice from the theory, from the point of tin sculpture art, it puts forwards theapplication focus in the modern decoration art-to simplify, to learn from the Past and beInnovative, a combination of Chinese and Western elements, to inherit the past to create,to pay attention to image, modern design. Combined with the examples to demonstratethe feasibility, the paper explores integrated approach between tin sculpture art andmodern decoration art in the design direction of hanging pieces, lamps, and largedecoration.History is the soil of culture, and art must be rooted in the history to glow vigorousvitality. In any time, we should not forsake our tradition, it is not only our shield andalso our spear. Now the traditional craftsmanship in order to bloom must change.
