Total Physical Response also known as TPR, was formulated by American scholar James Asher. This method pays much attention to the interactive activities during the class. According to this teaching method, games, dialogues, shows, etc, are frequently used in class. This approach is very effective in foreign language teaching, which helps to improve students understanding and enhance their confidence. What is more, it is also comply with the second language acquisition orders.In this thesis, firstly review and analysis the theory of TPR and relevant researches. Then introduce the features of Chinese teaching in Sudan, discusses the possibility that put TPR teaching method in the primary stage of Chinese teaching in Sudan. The following attempts to prove the effectiveness of TPR in the real Chinese classroom teaching in Sudan, the ways include questionnaire, case study, interview and teaching observation. The last part includes data collection and figure analysis and then conclusion. All this research demonstrates the possibility and feasibility of TPR teaching method used in the primary stage of Chinese teaching in Sudan. More revelation could be realized by the globe Confucius institute and education of Chinese teaching from this study. The writer hopes so. |
