The Daphniphyllum alkaloids are the characteristic chemical composition of daphniphyllaceae. Daphniphyllum alkaloids are a structurally diverse group of natural products with high complex polycyclic skeletons. These unusual systems have attracted great interest of nature product chemist and also as challenging targets for total synthesis and biosynthetic studies. Previous chemical investigations on the eleven species of Daphniphyllum have led to the isolation of more than 160 alkaloids according to literaures. To find potentially bioactive and structural diversity alkaloids with novel carbon skeleton from Daphniphyllum genus, this thesis elaborated the studies on the alkaloids from Daphniphyllum calycillum Benth and summarized the recent progress reseach on the Daphniphyllum alkaloids according to structural classification and biological activity. By means of chromatography methods and spectroscopic evidences, thirty six Daphniphyllum alkaloids including five new ones were isolated and identified from Daphniphyllum calycillum Benth. Their structures were established as methyl homodaphniphyllate (1) , daphnezomine O (2) , calyciphylline L (3) , daphmacropodine (4) , calyciphylline M (5) , calyciphylline P (6) , daphnilongeranin D (7) , daphnioldhanine H (8) , calyciphylline F (9) , methyl homasecodaphniphllate (10) , daphnezzomine M (11) , caldaphnidine D (12) , caldaphnidine E (13) , calyciphylline O (14) , secodaphniphylline (15) , daphnioldhanin D (16) , daphnioldhanin E (17) , daphnioldhanin F (18) , daphnioldhanin G (19) , deoxycalyciphylline B (20) , calyciphylline B (21) , oldhamiphylline A (22) , caldaphnidine R (23) , daphnicyclidin H (24) , macropodumine C (25) , daphniyunnine A (26) , 9,10-epoxycalycine A (27) , yunnandaphnine A (28) , calycinine A (29) , calycinumine A (30) , paxdaphnidine A (31) ; five new components were named as 2-hydroxyyunnandacalyciphylline D (32) , 7-hydroxymethyl homosecodaphniphyllate (33) , yunnandaphnime F (34) , calyciphylline Q (35) and 17-hydroxcalycinine A (36). Preliminary biological assay of 10 kinds of those compounds exhibited no antifungal activity against on 12 species of opportunistic fungi.
