Objective:To investigate the expression of homocysteine in the blood plasma of children with sepsis and its effect on septic myocardial dysfunction. Methods:from April2012to January2013to stay in P1CU of Lanzhou University Second Hospital,29-days to16-year-old children with sepsis88cases, and divided into:49of sepsis group (55.7%),27cases of severe sepsis group (30.1%),12cases of septic shock group(13.7%), the average age of (2.27±2.76) years. Selected35cases of healthy children as a control group, the average age of (2.40±3.35) years. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay-sandwich technique was detected each group of children with plasma HCY concentration, and compared with CRP, CK-MB, cTnI. Results:(1) Normal children with plasma homocysteine (3.86±1.41) μmol/L, compared with the experimental group, HCY levels was statistically significant (p<0.05).(2) Plasma HCY in children compared with sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock in children were significantly higher(p<0.05);(3) Elevated plasma HCY, cTnI significantly increased.HCY and cTnI correlation analysis (r=0.279,p<0.05).Conclusion:(1) HCY important to judge the severity and prognosis of myocardial depression;(2) Plasma HCY levels increase are closely related to the myocardial depression of sepsis.
