Chapter Ⅰ. Analysis of amplitude integrated electroencephalography characteristics in preterm infantsObjective To study the background pattern of amplitude integrated electroencephalography (aEEG) in preterm infants.Methods160preterm infants with gestational age of25-36+6weeks were chosen as study group, and dividing the160preterm infants into4groups according to gestational age (GA)(<28W,28-30+6W,31-33+6W,34-36+6W).40normal term neonates were chosen as control group. aEEG monitoring was done within72hours with Olympic CFM6000, and analyzing the background pattern of4groups. At the same time, analyzing the results between study group and control group. Results In the study group, with increased gestational age, the percent of continuity background gradually increased (P<0.01),while those in the control group were all continuous; the frequency of mature sleep-wake cycle increased (P<0.01) in the study group, while in the control group, all had mature cycle;low base voltage increased (P<0.01);span decreased gradually (P<0.01);time of a sleep-wake cycle shortened (P<0.01).Conclusion The aEEG pattern tends to maturity with the development of gestational age. aEEG can reflect brain maturation of preterm infants and can be well applied in monitoring cerebral function of preterm infants.Chapter Ⅱ. Analysis of amplitude integrated electroencephalography characteristics in preterm infants with cerebral injureObjective To study the background pattern and the early diagnostic value of amplitude integrated electroencephalography (aEEG) in preterm infants with cerebral injure.Methods55preterm infants with cerebral injure with gestational age of28+5-36+6weeks were chosen as study group.155preterm infants with gestational age of28+1-36+6weeks were chosen as control group. aEEG monitoring was done within72hours with Olympic CFM6000, and analyzing the background pattern and the abnormality rate of2groups. At the same time, analyzing the results between study group and control group. Results In the study group,18(32.7%) aEEG backgrounds expressed as continuity background, while in the control group,105(67.7%) aEEG backgrounds expressed as continuity background(P<0.01); the frequency of mature sleep-wake cycle is41.8%in the study group, while in the control group, the frequency of mature sleep-wake cycle is68.4%(P<0.01);the abnormality rate of the study group is81.8%;the abnormality rate of the control group is29.7%(P<0.01).Conclusion The most aEEG backgroud patterns of preterm infants with cerebral injure are discontinuous and haven’t mature sleep-wake cycles. The abnormality rate of preterm infants with cerebral injure is more than nomal preterm infants. aEEG can reflect cerebral injure of preterm infants and can be well applied in monitoring cerebral function of preterm infants.Chapter III. The early diagnostic value of two EEG-monitorings in premature infants with cerebral injureObjective To study the early diagnostic value of two electroencephalogram monitoring in premature infants with cerebral injure.Methods55preterm infants with cerebral injure with gestational age of28+5-36+6weeks were chosen as study group.155preterm infants with gestational age of28+1-36+6weeks were chosen as control group. aEEG monitoring and traditional EEG monitoring were respectively done within72hours with Olympic CFM6000and NT9W216cerebral function monitor, and analyzing the abnormality rate, sensitivity rate, specificity rate of2groups.Results The abnormality rate of aEEG was81.8%,the abnormality rate of traditional EEG was74.5%(P>0.05).By aEEG and traditional EEG,the sensitivity rate was81.8%and74.5%(P>0.05),the specificity rate was70.3%and71.0%(P>0.05).Conclusion aEEG and traditional EEG both are excellent tool to monitoring cerebral injure.Their sensitivity rate and specificity rate have no significant difference. We can select appropriate tool depending on the circumstances.
